The Dakota Wesleyan University softball team swept Northwestern College 8-3 and 4-3 in a Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader on Tuesday in Mitchell.
DWU won Game Two in dramatic fashion as Melysia Ortega hit a double that scored Paige Kinley for the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
In Game One, Sierra Haage was the winning pitcher for the Tigers. Haage allowed three earned runs on eight hits in seven innings pitched with four strikeouts.
DWU (16-27, 6-6 GPAC) plays Doane in a GPAC doubleheader at 2 p.m. on Thursday at McWhirter Field.
