DWU softball selected eighth in preseason GPAC poll

The Dakota Wesleyan University softball team was above .500 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play last season, but conference coaches selected it to finish eighth in the preseason poll.

The Dakota Wesleyan University softball team was above .500 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play last season, but conference coaches selected it to finish eighth in the preseason poll.

The Tigers tied for fourth in the conference with an 11-9 GPAC record, though only went 15-25 overall. Midland University received nine of the 12 first-place votes to top the preseason poll. GPAC newcomer University of Jamestown notched two first-place votes and is picked second, followed by Morningside College and the GPAC tournament champion Northwestern College.

The Tigers play Presentation College at 10 a.m. and Jamestown at noon on Feb. 8 in Aberdeen.
