DWU men’s basketball team lands 4 commits

The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s basketball team landed four commits this week.

Howard’s Jake Brooks, Pine Ridge’s Charles Schrader, Jr., Dell Rapids’ Drew Van Regenmorter and Sartell, Minnesota’s Paul Coleman all tweeted their intentions to play for the Tigers.

Brooks, a 6-foot-6 forward, averaged 16.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last season. He also shot 31.8 percent from the 3-point line, 50.6 percent from the field and 75 percent at the free-throw line. In the past two seasons at Howard, he recorded 721 points and 265 rebounds.

Schrader, a 6-foot-4 guard/forward, averaged 15.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists for the Thorpes this season. Schrader scored 16 points and hit a buzzer-beater against Mitchell this season at the Corn Palace. He’s a 1,000-point scorer.

Van Regenmorter, a 6-foot-2 guard, recorded 13.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists for Dell Rapids last season.

Coleman is a transfer from St. Cloud Technical and Community College. A 5-foot-9 guard, averaged 20.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game during his sophomore campaign.
