The Dakota Welseyan University men’s basketball team fell to Benedictine University at Springfield 66-58 in the final game of the Fulton State Bank Classic Saturday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.
Luke Bamberg led the way for DWU with 19 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double. Jalen Voss followed with 17 points. Trae Bergh and Stephen Lee each brought down nine rebounds, while Tate Martin added a team-high nine assists for the Tigers, which shot 37.5 percent from the field and 63.2 percent from the line.
Benedictine had four players in double figures as Justin Smith had 13 points, Cedric Smith and A.J. Bates each had 11 points and Nick Bennett had 10.
The Tigers had 15 turnovers and outrebounded Benedictine 40-37.
DWU is now 2-2 and hosts Johnson & Wales University at 4 p.m. today at the Corn Palace.
No. 19 Bellevue University beat No. 18 Dakota State University 85-73 in the early game Saturday.
