DWU men enter NAIA national poll at No. 18

The Dakota Wesleyan University men's basketball team enter the NAIA national poll for the first time this season.

The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s basketball team made its initial appearance in the NAIA coaches’ top-25 poll. The Tigers enter the poll at No. 18.

Heading into Wednesday’s game against No. 8 Morningside (Iowa), the Tigers won their previous nine games. They started the season 9-1 overall and 6-0 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play.

Morningside and DWU are the only ranked teams in the conference, though Northwestern (Iowa) has also received votes. Indiana Wesleyan is the top-ranked team in this week’s poll, followed by William Penn (Iowa), Mid-America Christian (Okla.), LSU Shreveport (La.) and Arizona Christian to round out the top-five teams.

The Tigers host Midland (Neb.) at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Corn Palace.
