Dakota Wesleyan University pitcher Dominique Boerger was named as an honorable mention selection to the NAIA Baseball All-American team on Tuesday.

The junior from Milbank ranked seventh in the country with a 1.74 ERA, while finishing tied for fifth with 15 earned runs allowed in 77 2/3 innings. Boerger went 9-3 and finished the season with 77 strikeouts for the Tigers.

Boerger was named Great Plains Athletic Conference pitcher of the year in May and was the lone player from the conference to tabbed for the All-American team voted on by the NAIA Baseball Coaches Association All-American Committee.

He is the 13th DWU player to earn All-American honors and the first since Michael Lukkason in 2013.

Boerger has a career record of 15-12, with 3.18 ERA and 150 strikeouts in 186 2/3 innings pitched during his first three seasons at DWU.
