SEWARD, Neb.-After losing a late lead to top-seeded Concordia earlier in the day, the Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team saw its season come to an end with a 12-0 loss to Doane in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday.
The No. 4 Tigers were limited to four hits, three of which came from designated hitter Tyler Torres, who went 3-for-4. Meanwhile No. 8 Doane (20-30) recorded six doubles and three home runs in the game.
Gavin Reichmuth took the loss on the mound, allowing six earned runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings of work.
DWU finishes the season 23-23 and graduates eight seniors.
Doane lost to Concordia, 6-4, on Saturday. The Bulldogs host No. 2 Jamestown in the GPAC title game on Tuesday.
