The NAIA Division II basketball coaches’ preseason polls were announced on Tuesday for both the men and women.
The Dakota Wesleyan University women are ranked No. 2 to begin the season, with Great Plains Athletic Conference rival Concordia (Nebraska) starting the season atop the poll. The Tigers received one of 12 first-place votes, while Concordia received 10 and Southeastern (Florida) got one. DWU opens its season at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Corn Palace against No. 16 Valley City State (North Dakota).
The men are the 17th-ranked team to start the season and open the season at 7 p.m. on Monday in Bellevue, Nebraska, against No. 14 Bellevue. Indiana Wesleyan is the top-ranked team on the men’s side, while Morningside (Iowa) is the highest-ranked GPAC team at No. 4 in the nation.
