The NAIA Division II coaches’ polls were released on Tuesday, which saw both Dakota Wesleyan University basketball teams drop a few spots.
The DWU women (19-3, 12-3 GPAC) fell to No. 4 after being the top-ranked team in the previous two polls, while the men (15-6, 8-5 GPAC) slid two spots to No. 17. The women are currently on a two-game losing skid, with road losses to No. 2 Northwestern College and Hastings College, and the men are 3-2 since the last poll.
The Great Plains Athletic Conference still holds the top-two spots in women’s basketball, though. Concordia University is No. 1 after receiving all 12 first-place votes, while Northwestern College is No. 2. Morningside College (No. 8) and Dordt College (No. 14) are also ranked.
On the men’s side, Morningside received three first-place votes, and moved up to No. 3. Briar Cliff University (No. 10) and University of Jamestown (No. 18) are ranked, as well.
DWU is back in action today at the Corn Palace against Briar Cliff, with the women tipping off at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m.
