DWU basketball teams both ranked top 10

The Dakota Wesleyan University basketball teams are both ranked top 10 in the NAIA Division II preseason polls. The Tiger women are ranked No. 8, while the DWU men are No. 10.

The Dakota Wesleyan University basketball teams are both ranked top 10 in the NAIA Division II preseason polls. The Tiger women are ranked No. 8, while the DWU men are No. 10.

The DWU women received 241 points and the men garnered 206 points. Both teams are coming off national tournament appearances. The DWU women finished last season 27-7 and lost to Eastern Oregon in the second round of the national tourney. The DWU men went 23-10 and lost to the College of Idaho in the first round.

The DWU men open the season at 8 p.m. Friday against Sisseton-Wahpeton College at the Corn Palace. The DWU women start its season at 6 p.m. on Oct. 31 against the University of Jamestown at the Corn Palace. The Jimmies are ranked No. 9 in the preseason poll.
