SEWARD, Neb.-The Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team had top-seeded Concordia on the ropes in the second round of the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday, but couldn't put the game away.
The No. 4 Tigers took a 3-1 lead on the Bulldogs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but Concordia responded with five runs in the final two innings to advance with a 6-3 win.
Wes Anderson drove in J.T. Miller and Cole Gassman with a two-run triple to regain the lead, but Concordia bounced right back.
The Bulldogs tied the game with two runs in the eighth, with one of those runs reaching base on an error. Concordia (31-17) then hit Gunnar Johnson for three runs on four hits in the top of the ninth to grab the lead.
Ethan Davis allowed two earned runs on eight hits and struck out eight batters in eight innings of work. Mitchell native Landon Neugebauer drove in the first DWU (24-23) run with an RBI double in the second.

The Tigers faced No. 8 Doane in an elimination game on Friday and the winner facing Concordia at 4 p.m. today. The conclusion of the game came after press time.
