HILLSBORO, Kan.-The Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team dropped three games to No. 4 Tabor College in its season-opening series on Saturday and Sunday in Hillsboro, Kan.
On Saturday, DWU fell 17-8 in nine innings. Dustin Steckler took the loss for DWU and he allowed six runs, four earned, on eight hits in four and a third innings pitched with four strikeouts.
On Sunday, the Tigers fell 8-7 and 6-1 in seven inning games.
Sean Riley hit the Tigers' first home run of the season, while Neil Nagle had three hits and Austin Calhoon, a Winner native, added two hits in the 8-7 loss. Patrick Whetham took the loss on the mound for DWU.
In the second game on Sunday, William Lutjen took the loss and Dominic Sebastiani picked up the Tigers lone hit in the loss.

DWU (0-3) plays Grace University in a doubleheader on Saturday in Omaha, Nebraska.
