Doering's no-hitter sends Parkston/Ethan/Tripp to win

MOUNT VERNON--Nate Doering tossed a no-hitter on Friday, guiding Parkston/Ethan/Tripp to a 10-0 five-inning high school baseball win over Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery/Mount Vernon/Plankinton.

MOUNT VERNON-Nate Doering tossed a no-hitter on Friday, guiding Parkston/Ethan/Tripp to a 10-0 five-inning high school baseball win over Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery/Mount Vernon/Plankinton.

Doering struck out five batters in his five innings of work, while also going 1-for-4 at the plate. PET racked up seven hits, and pulled away with a four-run seventh inning. Nate Boettcher went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Landon Sudbeck, Cade Gemar and Kade Bialas all drove in a run, too.

Jonah Hofer suffered the loss, allowing eight runs (five earned) on four hits and four walks in three innings of work.

PET (3-0) plays Wagner/Avon/Lake Andes at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Parkston.
