ALEXANDRIA - Emily Reynen had nine kills, 11 digs and three blocks to help No. 4 Mitchell Christian beat No. 5 Canistota in three sets Tuesday at the District 8B volleyball tournament.
Set scores were 27-25, 25-23, 25-20.
Cassidy Graham added six kills and 12 digs, while Emily Schrag had 33 assists for the Golden Eagles. Abbie Reynen tallied seven kills, 16 digs and two aces and Ashley Schmit had six kills and four aces.
Breanna Buseman had five kills, four blocks and three digs to lead Canistota. Chloe Nielsen chipped with four kills, five blocks and five digs, while Morgan Larson had 13 assists and six digs.
MCS (14-10) advances to face No. 1 Hanson Thursday in Alexandria. Canistota ends its season 8-16.

Bridgewater-Emery 3, Howard 2
ALEXANDRIA - The No. 3 Bridgewater-Emery Huskies beat No. 6 Howard in five sets Tuesday at the District 8B volleyball tournament.
Set scores were 19-25, 16-25, 25-12, 25-20, 15-8.
Tiana Kayser and Justine Dye led the way for the Huskies. Kayser recorded 14 kills, while Dye had 13 digs and 10 kills for a double-double. Mallory Haiar added seven kills, while Aly Hanssen had 20 assists, seven digs and two aces. Chesney Arend chipped in with 24 digs for the Huskies, who rallied from two sets down.
Shelby Thompson had 20 assists, eight digs and four aces for Howard. Kelsey Dawson chipped in with 10 kills, while Sam Hughes had 17 digs and Jessica Cavigielli added eight kills and one block.
BE (16-9) advances to faces No. 2 Ethan at 8 p.m. Thursday in Alexandria. Howard ends its season 3-19.
Tri-Valley 3, McCook Central/Montrose 0
WAGNER - Third-seeded Tri-Valley topped sixth-seeded McCook Central/Montrose 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 in the first round of the Region 5A volleyball tournament Tuesday.
Cally Neises had eight kills, Kaitlyn Garrison had 12 digs and Emma Johnson and Sammy Kasowski each tallied four blocks for the Mustangs. Mariah Swier had 14 assists, while Olivia Minnaert added 13 assists.
C.J. Ristesund had a double-double with 10 kills and 18 digs for the Fighting Cougars and Laura Klaudt added 21 assists.

Tri-Valley (17-9) plays No. 2 Wagner at 7 p.m. Thursday in Wagner, while the Fighting Cougars end their season with a 10-15 record.

WAGNER - Gina Soukup had 12 kills and 13 digs for a double-double to lead second-seeded Wagner over West Central 25-21, 25-12, 25-11 in Region 5A volleyball action Tuesday.
Wagner’s Ali Kuca added nine kills, Brooklyn Tolliver tallied 21 digs and Kayla Deurmier had 34 assists.
Ali Lacey had six kills and 11 digs for the Trojans. Madison Kuehl recorded six kills, while Miranda Vance added 18 assists.
Wagner (24-6) plays No. 3 Tri-Valley at 7 p.m. Thursday in Wagner, while West Central ends its season at 10-15.
Parkston 3, Bon Homme 2
PARKSTON - No. 4 Parkston edged No. 5 Bon Homme in five sets during the first round of the Region 5A volleyball tournament Tuesday.
Sets scores were 25-11, 25-17, 19-25, 21-25, 15-9.
Parkston’s Laura Weiss had 16 kills and 11 digs for a double-double. Whitney Weber recorded 26 assists and 12 digs for a double-double, adding four aces. Sadie Schoenfelder had six kills and 13 digs, Kenzie Lee tallied eight kills and 14 digs and Halli Heisinger added seven kills in the win.

Alie Adams recorded 20 assists and 18 digs for a double-double for the Cavaliers. Megan Rothschadl tallied 17 digs, Cailtin McLouth had 14 kills and Vanessa Navratil had 24 digs. Kelsey Sutera had three aces, eight kills and 18 digs and Sierra Mesman added 10 kills in the loss.
Parkston (17-12) plays Mount Vernon/Plankinton Thursday in Plankinton, while Bon Homme ends its season 19-9.

CHAMBERLAIN - No. 4 Chamberlain defeated No. 5 Cheyenne-Eagle Butte in four sets in the first round of the Region 6A volleyball tournament Tuesday.
Set scores were 25-7, 25-22, 23-25, 25-9.
Brigitte Byrd had 11 aces and 21 digs for a double-double for the Cubs, while Kennedy Wagner added 12 kills and 14 assists for a double-double. Ilaria Giuli had 10 kills and two blocks, Abbey Handel recorded 19 assists and Sarah Knust had 20 digs.
Tiffany Shaving had three aces, Kaleb Shepherd added six kills and two blocks and E’Vanna Dupris tallied five kills for the Braves.Bailey Fast Horse had 10 assists, Rocki Afraid Of Hawk tallied 12 digs and Ryia Farlee added 11 digs.
Chamberlain (8-19) plays No. 1 Winner at 7 p.m. Thursday in Winner, while Cheyenne-Eagle Butte ends its season with a record of 8-20.

LAKE ANDES - No. 3 Gregory swept No. 6 Marty Indian 25-6, 25-5, 25-2 Tuesday in District 12B volleyball action.

Courtney Opbroek had 12 kills and nine aces, Briana Weber had seven digs and Brett Steffen added 14 assists and six digs for the Gorillas.
The Gorillas advanced to the next round where they faced No. 2 Andes Central, while Marty ended its season 2-16.

LAKE ANDES - Gregory upset No. 2 Andes Central in five sets in the semifinal round of the District 12B volleyball tournament Tuesday.
Set scores were 25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-6.
Courtney Opbroek and Briana Huber each recorded double-doubles in the win. Opbroek had 19 kills and 16 digs, while Huber had 15 kills and 13 digs. Brett Steffen had a game-high 48 assists and two aces, Codi Horst recorded 32 digs and Mackenzie Odenbach had 10 kills and one block.
Lake Andes was led by Dennisha Johanneson with 16 kills, four blocks, 25 digs and two aces. Payton Johanneson recorded 10 kills, six blocks and 19 digs. DiMera Dvorak added 15 digs and two aces, Emily Houseman had a team-high 15 assists and Makayla Pavel tallied 10 assists.
Gregory (13-15) advances to play in the District 12B championship match Thursday, while the Eagles end their season at 13-13.

ARMOUR - No. 4 Tripp-Delmont/Armour defeated No. 5 Dakota Christian in four sets in the first round of the District 11B volleyball tournament Tuesday.

Jessica Sandau tallied 12 assists, 25 digs and 14 kills for a triple-double for the Nighthawks. Becca Brown had five blocks and 24 digs, Hannah Just had 19 assists and eight kills and Payton Schafers had four aces and 10 kills.
Dakota Christian was led by Abbi BaanHofman with 10 kills and four blocks. Germaine Niewenhuis added nine digs and nine assists, while Rheanna Pfeifer recorded five aces and seven digs.
The Nighthawks (4-20) play No. 1 Kimball/White Lake at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Kimball, while the Cadets end their season at 4-23.

SCOTLAND - Jessica Thum had a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs to lift No. 3 Scotland over No. 6 Menno in three sets during the District 9B volleyball tournament Tuesday.

Carley Skorepa recorded 12 kills, three blocks, six digs and one aces for the Highlanders. Amber Alvey added 33 assists and Lindsey Frey had six digs, two aces and one kill.
Scotland (11-16) plays No. 2 Marion Thursday in Scotland, while Menno ends its season at 3-20.

SCOTLAND - Hannah Yoder had 13 kills, nine blocks, six digs and four aces to help No. 4 Freeman Academy beat No. 5 Freeman in three sets in District 9B action Tuesday.
Set scores were 28-26, 25-18, 25-23.
Olivia Boese recorded 12 digs, two kills and one ace in the win, while Bethany Wollman added seven digs, four blocks and six kills.
Freeman was led by Vanessa Douden with a team-high eight kills and eight digs. Erika Sage had five kills and 19 digs, while Mady Pravecek recorded 21 assists, six digs and one ace. Haley Glanzer also had 10 digs in the loss.
Freeman Academy (8-11) plays No. 1 Parker at 6 p.m. Thursday in Scotland, while Freeman ends its season at 4-16.

KADOKA - Top-seeded Lyman defeated No. 5 Kadoka Area in straight sets Tuesday in the District 13B volleyball tournament.
Set scores were 25-14, 25-13, 25-15.
Kadoka Area defeated Stanley County in five sets to advance to the semifinals before losing to Lyman.
Brooklyn Halverson recorded five aces, six blocks and six kills and Anna Flitner had 14 kills, 17 digs and six blocks for Lyman. Sara Herman tallied 17 digs, while Hanna Thiry added 16 assists.
Lyman (22-8) plays White River in the District 13B championship match Thursday in Kadoka.
Burke/South Central 3, Avon 2
AVON - The No. 4 Burke/South Central Cougars beat No. 1 Avon in five sets Tuesday to reach the District 12B volleyball tournament finals.
Set scores were 21-25, 25-18, 16-25, 25-21, 15-12.
The Cougars also defeated No. 5 Colome in three sets Tuesday in the first round of District 12B tournament play. Set scores were 25-20, 25-15, 25-20.
Complete stats were not reported for either game.
Burke/South Central (6-22) plays No. 3 Gregory at 7 p.m. Thursday. Colome ends its season 5-19, while Avon finishes the season 12-13.
