Dakota Wesleyan University's Dani Bellet finished her Great Plains Athletic Conference career with her fourth women's golfer of the year award. The conference announced its awards Tuesday.

"I worked hard for it," Bellet said. "It's awesome to see the work pay off."

Bellet won the individual conference title by 10 strokes with a four-round total of 318 and the team took the conference crown and earned a trip to the national championships. She's the first person in the history of the conference to win four player of the year awards.

Head coach Adam Anderson notched his fourth straight and fifth overall GPAC women's golf coach of the year award and the Tigers had four golfers make the all-GPAC first team.

"It feels awesome," Anderson said of receiving the coach of the year award and having four players make the all-GPAC first team.

Bellet was joined on the first-team list by teammates Kamie Roesler, Jenna Winckler and Chelsea Burback.

Roesler and Burback are both sophomores who made the list for the second time after making the all-GPAC first team as freshmen and Winckler received the honor this year as a freshman.

"As a team we've played really well this year," Bellet said. "That's important heading into nationals."

This season marks the ninth-consecutive year the Tigers have earned a spot in the NAIA Women's Golf National Championships, which take place May 15-18 in Greeneville, Tenn.

"We've set a good standard for ourselves," Anderson said of his team. "We recruit the kind of players that want to keep winning and continue a tradition of success. We're looking forward to nationals. Our season's not done yet."

The team leaves for the national championships Friday to get a few practice rounds in. DWU's tee time for the first round is set for 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
