Dakota Riptide posts 21 first-place finishes at home meet

Raml wins five events at Mitchell Aquatic Center

The Dakota Riptide logged 21 first-place finishes at its home swimming meet this past weekend at the Mitchell Aquatic Center.

Riptide’s Owen Raml posted five first-place finishes. He won the 500-yard freestyle (5:28.15), 200-yard individual medley (2:22.13), 100-yard backstroke (1:06.85), 100-yard freestyle (:56.55), 50-yard backstroke (:31.22) in the boys 11-12 age division. He added second-place finishes in the 100-yard individual medley (1:05.53) and 100-yard breastroke (1:18.40).

Riptide’s Quinnley Miner won the 100-yard individual medley (1:58.61), 50-yard breaststroke (1:02.28) and the 25-yard freestyle (:19.23) in the girls 8 and under division. She added a second-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (:57.21).

Riptide’s Brock Russell logged three first-place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:09.92), 400-yard individual medley (4:36.43) and 200-yard breastroke (2:21.59) in the boys 13-14 age division. He added second-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.75) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.18).

Riptide’s Sophia Huber won the 500-yard freestyle (5:39.60), 200-yard individual medley (2:20.34) and 200-yard freestyle (2:05.11) in the girls 13-14 age division. Huber took second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:50.19), 100-yard freestyle (:57.35) and the 100-yard individual medley (1:06.94).

In the girls 13-14 age division, Riptide’s Abigail Warmbrand (1:04.43) won the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.30). She added a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly (2:30.92).

Riptide’s Avery Swanstrom (50-yard backstroke), Pierce Baumberger (500-yard freestyle), Cora Hofer (50-yard freestyle), Emerson Smith (1:03.00) and Colby Harrell (100-yard backstroke) all won individual races.
