COLMAN -- Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s Suri Schmidt won the Colman-Egan cross country invite at the Sunrise Ridge Golf Course on Wednesday.

Schmidt won the event with a time of 21 minutes and zero seconds and her teammate Kyia Schmidt placed tenth with a time of 22:47.74.

Colman-Egan earned a home title on the girls side, edging second-place De Smet. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket finished in sixth place on the girls side. SCW’s Hannah Terkildsen finished in eighth place with a time of 22:44.76.

On the boys team side, Baltic’s John Gronewold won the invite in 17 minutes and 59 seconds while SCW had three runners finish in the top 10. Jeff Boschee finished in second place individually with a time of 18:18.21. Braxton Gentles finished fifth in 18 minutes and 58 seconds while Josh Tucker placed eighth with a time of 19:35.82.

Howard’s Caden Schwader earned seventh place with a time of 19:29.40 and Connor Giedd finished in twelfth in 19 minutes and 50 seconds.

Elkton-Lake Benton took first place as a team while SCW finished second place and Mount Vernon/Plankinton landed in fifth place.
