Corsica-Stickney places three on all-Great Plains girls squad

After rolling to an unblemished record and a Great Plains Conference girls basketball championship, Corsica-Stickney placed three players on the all-conference team.

Avery Broughton, Raven Barse and Rachel Gerlach represented the Jaguars, while second-place Burke saw Sally Hakin, Taylee Indahl and Bobbi Jo Wischmann make the squad. Avon’s Shalayne Nagel, Tiffany Pelton and Alexa Sees were also voted to the team after placing third.

Fourth-place Scotland was represented by Kennedy Bietz, Grace Fryda and Bella Vitek. Kianna Payer and Ashlee Gerber made the squad for Tripp-Delmont/Armour, while Mackenzie Muckey and Isabel Pheifer were honored for Andes Central/Dakota Christian. Colome’s Makayla Shippy and Baylie Hoffine and Freeman Academy/Marion’s Jada Koerner also earned spots on the squad.

Bearcats earn three on all-GPC boys team

Freeman Academy/Marion placed three players on the Great Plains boys all-conference team after finishing second behind champion Marty.

Quincy Blue, Gavin Pankratz and Thalen Schroeder were honored for the Bearcats. Corsica-Stickney’s Trever Burke, Jaylen Kemp and Brendan Wentland were honored after taking third, while Jaden Frank, Bryce Frank and Tyson Mayer represented fourth-place Burke.

TDA’s Micah Lau and Carson Koehn, as well as ACDC’s Jaeson Garcia and Parker Vander Pol earned spots on the squad, as did Scotland’s Ty Mogck and Mason Dennis.

Avon’s Logan Schuurmans and Colome’s Jacob Beckers were also honored.
