The Corn Palace will host a special basketball event on Friday when Houston (Tenn.) will play Lower Brule at 6 p.m.
Former Mitchell native and long-time NBA swingman Mike Miller is now the Houston head boys basketball coach. Miller’s sons -- Mason and Mavrick -- play for the Mustangs.
The game is open to the public and tickets will be available at the door. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., $5 tickets for all ages are available at the door and pre-K are free. Face masks/coverings are required inside the Corn Palace.
The Mustangs (5-2) are the No. 2-ranked team in Tennessee’s 3A. Houston will play Brandon Valley High School on Saturday at the Sanford Pentagon.
Houston’s is headlined by Miller, a Creighton commit, and 6-foot-10 center Jerrell Colbert, an LSU commit.

Oregon commit Jonathon Lawson, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard, recently transferred to Houston. T.J. Madlock, who has interest from Arkansas and TCU, is the team’s starting point guard.
