PIERRE (AP) - South Dakota hunters and ranchers have another month to offer their thoughts on how the state's elk herd should be managed in the coming years.
The Game, Fish and Parks' Division of Wildlife extended the deadline to submit comments on its draft five-year elk management plan until Feb. 6.
Tom Kirschenmann with GFP says the agency wants to make sure everyone interested in it has enough time to comment.
The draft management plan can be found online at: http://gfp.sd.gov/hunting/big-game/elk/default.aspx . Written and emailed comments are accepted.
