Colman-Egan takes down Central Dakota

WESSINGTON SPRINGS -- Colman-Egan never trailed Friday night and took advantage of six Central Dakota errors, as the visitors won 8-5 in a prep baseball game in Wessington Springs.

WESSINGTON SPRINGS - Colman-Egan never trailed Friday night and took advantage of six Central Dakota errors, as the visitors won 8-5 in a prep baseball game in Wessington Springs.

Colman-Egan was paced by three hits from Devin Sopko, who had a triple and an RBI. Kasen Grengs pitched 5 2/3 innings for the win, striking out nine and scattering five hits.

For Central Dakota, Trevor Bruggeman had two hits and scored two runs, while John Witte had a pair of doubles and knocked in three runs. Trever Schmidt took the loss for the Coyotes, pitching three innings and allowing one earned run and striking out six. Wyatt Feistner and Noah Hainy finished the game out of the bullpen, pitching two innings each.

Four of Central Dakota's five runs came in the sixth inning after C-E led the game 8-1. Colman-Egan had a 6-5 edge in hits.

Central Dakota (1-1) will host Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on Sunday in Miller.
