Three Dakota Wesleyan wrestlers honored on GPAC all-conference teams

Senior Aric Williams and sophomore Kaleb Bigelow were named to the all-conference second team, while freshman and Howard, S.D., native Lane Miller was an honorable mention.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Three Dakota Wesleyan wrestlers were honored when the Great Plains Athletic Conference announced its all-conference wrestling teams Thursday.

Senior Aric Williams and sophomore Kaleb Bigelow were named to the all-conference second team, while freshman and Howard native Lane Miller was an honorable mention.

Williams, a native of Pierre and graduate transfer from South Dakota State, and Bigelow, of Pinedale, Wyoming, both qualified for the national tournament during the GPAC tournament last week.

Doane’s Baterdene Boldmaa, a senior from Mongolia who wrestles at 141 pounds, was the GPAC’s wrestler of the year.

Morningside took home two conference awards, with Zander Ernst, a 165-pound wrestler from Holstein, Iowa, winning freshman of the year and Jake Stevenson being named coach of the year.

The NAIA national wrestling championships take place Friday and Saturday, March 3 and 4 in Park City, Kansas.
