BROOKINGS — Freshman Matthew Mors had his coming out party on Thursday night at Frost Arena, scoring a career-high 23 points on 8-of-9 shooting to lead the Jackrabbits to a 96-73 win over North Dakota.
SDSU (13-11, 8-4 Summit) shot a blistering 61.7 percent from the floor, which included a 14-for-24 effort from the 3-point line. All five starters scored in double figures, with Zeke Mayo chipping in 14 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, William Kyle adding 12 points and seven rebounds and Matt Dentlinger 13 points and five boards.
Matt Mims had 11 points, as did Charlie Easley, who returned from a long injury absence to contribute off the bench. Alex Arians was also back after missing a few games for personal reasons, and the senior had six points, four assists and three rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench.
The Jacks host the Bison Saturday at Frost Arena.
SDSU women stay unbeaten
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Haleigh Timmer had 16 points and SDSU overcame a rough shooting night by scoring 25 points at the free throw line and holding UND to one made 3-pointer in a 75-57 win in Grand Forks.

Paiton Burckhard added 14 points and Kallie Theisen added 11 points and 12 rebounds as SDSU improved to 19-5 overall and 12-0 in conference play.
UND (12-9, 5-6) shot 31.7 percent from the floor and went 1-of-16 from outside the arc. Kaite Borowicz had 10 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Fighting Hawks.
The Jacks will visit NDSU on Saturday.
USD women fall in overtime
FARGO, N.D. — The Coyotes rallied late to force overtime in Fargo but the Bison escaped with an 86-82 win to improve to 8-3 in Summit League play. USD fell to 7-5.
Carley Duffney had 21 points to lead USD and Grace Larkins again flirted with a triple double, finishing with 19 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists. Morgan Hansen added 18 points for the Coyotes.
Heaven Hamling had 28 points and eight rebounds for the Bison, while Elle Evans added 18 points.
USD will visit UND on Saturday.
