MITCHELL — Dakota Wesleyan’s search for its first win of the 2022 campaign continues Saturday when the Tigers welcome Dordt to town.

About the Tigers: Saturday marks DWU’s first home game of the season. … DWU started 0-3 in 2020, which included a loss to Dordt at home, but avoided an 0-4 start. … It’s been over 10 years since the Tigers started 0-4. … Jamin Arend leads the DWU offense, averaging 110.3 rushing yards per game with four touchdowns. … The Tigers are converting on 42% of their third-down chances, which ranks in the top 30 nationally. … DWU has 62 first downs this season, good for 20.7 per game, up from the 13.5 the Tigers averaged last year.
About the Defenders: Dordt was ranked No. 21 in the country last week before falling to No. 1 Morningside. … Kade McDaniel has thrown for 296 yards and three touchdowns through the first two games of the season for Dordt, completing 43.6% of his passes with two interceptions. … Nick Wellen and Daniel Dickerson lead the Defenders in rushing. … Wellen has 174 yards and two scores on 32 carries, while Dickerson has 110 yards and a touchdown on 19 rushes.
