MITCHELL — Dakota Wesleyan University is ranked No. 11 in the most recent NAIA women's basketball top-25 rankings, announced Wednesday, Nov. 30.
The poll reflects a four-spot drop for the Tigers from the No. 7 slot they held in the last poll on Nov. 16. DWU is 5-1 but lost to unranked Jamestown, 71-64, on Nov. 16, but also logged a 60-point win over the College of Saint Mary (Neb.) on Nov. 19 and a 59-39 win over Mount Marty on Nov. 22.
Thomas More (Ky.) remains the unanimous No. 1 team in NAIA women's basketball with an 8-0 record, one of 10 undefeated teams in this week's rankings. That includes No. 5 Dordt (8-0) and No. 16 Northwestern (8-0), along with No. 25 Morningside representing the Great Plains Athletic Conference in the rankings.
On the men's side, Thomas More moved to No. 1 in the national rankings for the first time, putting the same school in both No. 1 positions in NAIA basketball. No. 6 Jamestown (7-1) and No. 19 Concordia (6-1) are the GPAC schools in the top-25 this week, with Morningside in the receiving votes category.
DWU women's basketball is back on the court at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 at the Corn Palace, hosting Doane. The DWU men are at Dakota State on Wednesday night before taking part in the GPAC doubleheader on Friday at 6:45 p.m.
