Due to issues of water and drainage at Wild Oak Golf Course, the South Dakota High School Activities Association has decided to move the 2019 Class B state golf championships from Mitchell to Yankton.

Mitchell was previously scheduled to hold the Class B boys tournament at Wild Oak, and the Class B girls competition at Lakeview Golf Course. The tournament is 36 holes played over two days.

The tournament will still be held on June 3 and 4, with the boys playing at Hillcrest Golf and Country Club and the girls at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton.

The two cities will essentially swap dates, pending approval from the SDHSAA Board of Directors. The SDHSAA staff is recommending the relocation of the 2020 Class B state championships from Yankton to Mitchell due to the 2019 change.
