Chester ends Monarchs' reign in Class B

SIOUX FALLS--In the third straight Class B championship match between the two schools, Chester Area won its first state championship in five sets over the two-time defending champions Warner on Saturday.

Set scores were 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 20-25, 15-10.

The Flyers' (30-2) Jenna Reiff had a match-high 26 kills, while Josie Wolf had 46 assists, 19 digs and six kills. Samantha Ordal added 11 kills.

Warner (30-6) had 21 kills from Peyton Ellingson and Alexis Boesel had a match-high 37 digs.

Class AA: Aberdeen Central 3, Brandon Valley 0

SIOUX FALLS-In an all-Eastern South Dakota Conference battle, Aberdeen Central earned its third volleyball championship in school history-and first since 2009-with a 3-0 win over Brandon Valley Saturday night in Sioux Falls.

Set scores were 25-13, 25-17, 25-23.

The Golden Eagles (23-2) were led by 11 kill from Brianna Kusler, who also had six blocks and six digs. The Lynx (20-5) got 10 kills each from Hanna Jellema and Elsie Zajicek.
