SIOUX CITY, Iowa - A pair of leads slipped away for the Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team Monday, as the Tigers were swept by Briar Cliff Monday in Sioux City in a doubleheader that was made up after Sunday's games were rained out.
The Chargers took the opener 5-4 in walkoff fashion and rallied for a 11-9 victory in Game Two.
Briar Cliff led 4-1 after three innings before DWU tacked on two runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth inning. In a 4-4 tie, the Chargers' Alex Colegrove hit a solo home run to win the game, 5-4.
DWU's Tyler Waddle was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Austin Calhoon was 1-for-4 with a RBI single. Pat Whetham was the complete game losing pitcher for DWU, allowing nine hits and four earned runs.
In the second contest, DWU led 9-1 after three-and-a-half innings but saw the lead slip away with 10 unanswered Chargers runs. Calhoon was 4-for-4 in the loss at the plate with an RBI. Will Lutjen was the losing pitcher in relief, allowing three runs on four hits.

DWU (22-22, 7-9 GPAC) is at Mayville State (N.D) on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader.
