Chamberlain boys golf runs away with Big Dakota title

CHAMBERLAIN--The Chamberlain Cubs boys golf team played host at the Chamberlain Country Club on Thursday as six schools competed in the Big Dakota Conference meet.

CHAMBERLAIN-The Chamberlain Cubs boys golf team played host at the Chamberlain Country Club on Thursday as six schools competed in the Big Dakota Conference meet.

The Cubs cruised to the team title, shooting a 359 and winning by 40 strokes. Mobridge-Pollock (399 strokes) and Todd County (409) finished second and third, respectively, and were the only other teams to place.

Chamberlain also swept the top-two spots in the individual standings, with Cameron Caldwell shooting a 74 to beat teammate Drayton Priebe by eight strokes. Caldwell shot a 36 on the front nine and 38 on the back nine.

Max Kelsey notched an eighth-place finish at 100 strokes, followed by Dakota Munger (103) and Sandler Wiekamp (109) rounding out the Cubs' team score.

Winner Area's Gage Watson placed fourth with an 88, as well.
