Northern State women's basketball senior guard Devon Brecke has started in every game for the Wolves so far this season.
The 5-foot-9 senior is averaging 10.3 points per game to go along with 3.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Brecke, a native of Wagner, scored a season-high 17 points in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matchup against Minot State on Sunday. Brecke and the Wolves (5-3) continue action tonight as they host Minnesota-Duluth for a 6 p.m. tipoff in Aberdeen.
Colome native sets school record
Dakota Wesleyan indoor track and field senior Skylar Forgey broke the school record for an indoor mile, set by Gail McIntyre in 2011.
Forgey, a native of Colome, clocked a time of 5 minutes, 16.70 seconds in a second-place finish last weekend at the South Dakota State University Holiday Open at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings.

Forgey and the Tigers will compete in the Dordt College Open on Jan. 16 in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Selland paving her way to playing time for Augustana
Shelby Selland, a Letcher native, is averaging 6.4 points per game in eight games with four starts for the Augustana women's basketball team.
The 6-foot-2 center has hit 7-of-14 3-pointers and has pulled down 27 total rebounds.
Selland scored a season-high 14 points against Peru State on Nov. 25. Selland and the Vikings (7-1) will be back in action tonight as they visit Bemidji State in a NSIC conference matchup in Bemidji, Minn.
