Tyndall native and Mount Marty College senior Karlee Kozak has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference softball player of the week.
Kozak helped guide the Lancers to a 5-3 week. She hit .435 on the week with 10 hits and 11 runs batted in. On the season, Kozak carries a .374 batting average and leads the Lancers with 27 runs batted in. Kozak, a four-year starter for the Lancers, now has over 120 career hits.
The Lancers (17-21, 7-11 GPAC) will play at Northwestern College today.
Bormann, SDSU finish 2nd at Summit League meet
Parkston graduate Sydney Bormann helped the South Dakota State University women's golf team finish second at the Summit League meet in Nebraska City, Nebraska.

The Jacks, who had a two-stroke lead going into the final round, shot a 912 (297-314-301) on the par-72, 6,142-yard ArborLinks Golf Course. Denver defended its title, winning by six strokes.
In her championship debut, Bormann tied for ninth individually, shooting a 231 (76-79-76) with four birdies.
SDSU's Megan Mingo captured the individual title. The Yankton native led from start to finish, ending the championship with a 222 (69-80-73) and championship-best 10 birdies.
SDSU finished the season with five regular-season titles, top-three finishes in 10 of 11 tournaments and the school record for single-season stroke average with a 299.61.
Richey leads USF in batting average
Winner graduate Austin Richey is leading the University of Sioux Falls baseball team in batting average.
The senior first baseman is batting .377, which is tied with Josh Rehwaldt for the team lead.
Richey's batting average was boosted after going 7-of-14 with three RBI against Upper Iowa. He has a .541 slugging percentage on the season with a .506 OBP. He has a home run and 15 RBI in 25 games this season.

The Cougars (16-24, 13-17 Northern Sun) will play rival Augustana University in a 3 p.m. doubleheader today at Karras Park in Sioux Falls.
