Mitchell High School graduate Ethan Huber logged three first-place finishes as St. John’s University defeated Macalester 177-36 in a dual on Nov. 2 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Huber took first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.66) and 400-yard individual medley (4:28.82). He was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that took first in 1:41.01.
The Johnnies host St. Thomas for their home opener Friday.
Anderson logs third-place finish for USD swimming
South Dakota swimming and diving teams wrapped up the two-day USD Quad Duals held at Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls on Friday and Saturday with an 8-4 dual mark.
The Coyote men's squad went a perfect 5-0 over the two days of competition while the women's team had a 3-4 mark.

On Saturday, former Mitchell Aquatic Club Lucie Anderson finished third in the 200 backstroke in 2:06.74. She also posted a sixth-place finishes on Friday in the 100 backstroke (:59.53). She also a member of the 400 medley relay that took sixth in 4:04.08.
Fellow former Mitchell Aquatic Club Christian Fossum finished fourth in the 400 individual medley (4:23.67) on Friday. He was also a member of the 400 medley relay that took eighth in 3:39.62.
On Saturday, he claimed sixth in the 200 butterfly in 2:00.45.
The Coyote women travel to Ames to take on Iowa State on Friday before squaring off with Northern Iowa on Saturday. The men's team has the weekend off.\u0009
Xavier Ward records sack against Missouri State
Freeman native Xavier Ward logged his third sack of the season for the South Dakota State University football team on Nov. 2.
The junior defensive tackle finished with one sack, three tackles and one quarterback hurry in SDSU’s 35-14 win over Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri.

This season, Ward has recorded 17 tackles (five tackles for loss), three quarterback hurries and one blocked kick.
The Jackrabbits host Illinois State at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.
