Catching up with former area athletes: Gustafson records 10th double-double of season

The former Ethan High School standout played a big part in both wins. She notched her 10th double-double of the season, recording 13 points on 3-for-4 shooting and 10 rebounds against Briar Cliff. The forward followed it with eight points, six rebounds and two steals against Hastings.

Gustafson has been efficient all season, averaging 15.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. She is also shooting 53.5 percent from the field.

Northwestern finishes the regular season at Midland on Saturday in Fremont, Nebraska.

Sebern races at SDSU Indoor Classic

Burke native Allison Sebern competed in the 400 meters at the SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings on Friday on Saturday.

The junior South Dakota State University middle distance runner finished in 59.3 seconds for 20th place in the 80-runner field. The Jackrabbits finished with 74 points to take second at their home meet.

Sebern has run multiple events this indoor season. She was part of the winning 4x400-meter relay team at the UND-SDSU dual on Jan. 12, while also finishing the 200 meters in 27 seconds to place 13th at the North Dakota Indoor Open on Jan. 26.

The Jackrabbits host the SDSU Last Chance Invite on Friday.

Campbell produces off the bench

Presentation College center and former Hanson High School standout Jada Campbell played a big role off the bench as the Saints played three games in four days. The Saints went 1-2, though Campbell consistently made an impact on both ends.

She had six points and a steal against Dakota State, as well as nine points and four rebounds against Bellevue. She concluded the week with a team-high 11 points, along with six rebounds and a pair of blocks versus Nebraska Christian.

The freshman has averages of 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while also blocking 32 shots this season.

Presentation concludes its regular season at Dickinson State University on Saturday in Dickinson, North Dakota.
