Two Mitchell area swimmers helped the University of South Dakota swimming and diving team take home first and second place at the Rochester Invitational on Dec. 8. in Rochester, Minn.
The Coyote women earned the title with 1,724 points in the 10-team meet, while the men earned a second-place finish with 991 points.
Mitchell Baye, a Mitchell native, took sixth place in 100 backstroke, seventh in 200 backstroke, ninth in the 200 medley relay and 10th in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Wagner native, Kathleen Juffer, helped her relay teams finish 24th place in the 200 freestyle relay and 25th in 400 freestyle relay.
South Dakota returns to competition on Jan. 16 at Summit League foe Western Illinois in Macomb, Ill.

Horstman continues to contribute in SDSU's win over Idaho
Winner native Zach Horstman went 2-for-3 from the field and scored five points in South Dakota State University's 87-85 victory over Idaho on Saturday in Brookings.
In nine games, Horstman is averaging 5.1 points per-game and 3.2 rebounds per-game. He has two steals, one block and five assists, while shooting 49 percent from the field and 35 percent behind the arc.
The Jackrabbits (6-3) play Idaho State at 6:30 p.m. today in Logan, Utah.
