Augustana junior Rhianna Gullickson, a former standout at Hanson High School, scored 15 points on 4-of-5 shooting and added six rebounds in the Vikings’ season-opening victory over Jamestown Saturday in Sioux Falls.

Gullickson was also 5-of-5 from the free-throw line in the 95-79 win over the Jimmies. Augustana (1-0, 0-0 NSIC) is ranked 14th nationally and hosts Presentation College at 7 p.m. today in the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls.

Former Kimball Kiote Caitlin Pick, a junior on the Dakota State University volleyball squad, had six kills in a season-ending loss to Jamestown at the NSAA volleyball conference postseason tournament Nov. 6 in Jamestown, N.D.

Pick was also the only Trojan chosen to the NSAA volleyball all-conference first team after racking up 303 kills with a hitting percentage of .240, which was fourth best in the league.

DSU, which won four of its last six matches, finished the season with an overall record of 9-25.

Alex Kocer, a redshirt freshman on the South Dakota State University wrestling team, earned his first career win in a dual against Drexel University Nov. 9 in Brookings. The former Wagner standout won a 14-3 decision over Drexel University’s Shane Fenningham.

The Jackrabbits are back in action Sunday when the University of Nebraska-Lincoln comes to Frost Arena for a dual beginning at 2 p.m.

Linebacker Dylan Hart finished the regular season with 86 total tackles in nine games for the Minnesota West Community and Technical College football team, including 15 for a loss. Hart, a Mitchell native, added eight sacks on the year and forced two fumbles.

The Blue Jays finished the season with a 6-2 record.
