Canistota/Freeman, Howard headline all-Cornbelt Conference first team

The Cornbelt Conference announced its all-conference team on Monday, with Howard and Canistota/Freeman combining for eight first-team members. The Pride’s Tyce Ortman was named the Class 9A/B MVP, as well.

Howard had a conference-high five members on the first team, with Jaxon Kampshoff, Ty Beyer, Riley Genzlinger, Samuel Callies and Lane Miller all receiving all-conference honors. Kieffer Klinkhammer, Tisyn Spader and Sam Aslesen all made the all-conference second team for Howard.

For Canistota/Freeman, Ortman, Clayton Smith and Logan Katzer were all-conference first-team members. Blake Anderson, Isiah Robertson and Cole Papendick were named to the second team.

Hanson had two first-team players in Riley Ferry and Thailan Hallman. Menno/Marion’s Treyton Sayler was named to the first team, as well. On the second team, Hanson had three players in Jackson Jarding, Hadley Wallace and Brock Tuttle. Menno/Marion’s Logan Langerock received second-team honors.
