A popular spot for the 12-day and 32-team Class B state amateur baseball tournament, Cadwell Park generated $56,334 in paid admission, according to South Dakota Amateur Baseball Association Secretary/Treasurer Herb Sundall.
The Raptors, winners of six consecutive games, ran out of steam and were eliminated by Flandreau, 5-1, in the Class B state amateur baseball semifinals at Cadwell Park.
The Cardinals and Angels, who have played in four of the past six Class B state amateur baseball tournaments, collided in the quarterfinals again Thursday at Cadwell Park.
“Brian (Duxbury) has always been that kind of player for us. When the lights are on bright, that’s the guy we want up at the plate,” Salem manager and third baseman Cole Cheeseman said of Duxbury, who went 2-3 at the plate, with one home run and three RBIs.
