The Mitchell Marlins girls hockey team dropped a 7-1 contest to Brookings on Friday at the Mitchell Activities Center in Mitchell.
Brookings (13-1) took an early 3-0 lead after the first period, before Mitchell made it 4-1 after the second period. Brookings closed the game out with three goals in the final period.
Ashley Jones scored a power-play goal with an assist from Jenna Grosdidier. The Marlins recorded 11 shots in the contest, while Brookings had 36.
Katelyn Uithoven recorded 29 saves in the net for Mitchell.
For Brookings, Klara Beinhorn scored three goals and had one assist.

Mitchell (5-7-1) plays Brookings at 9 a.m. today in Mitchell.
