Brookings blanks Marlin boys

Marlins out-shot 59-4 in loss against Brookings

BROOKINGS -- The Mitchell Marlins boys hockey team fell to the Brookings Rangers 8-0 on Saturday. The Rangers out-shot Mitchell by a whopping 59-4 margin.

Brookings’ Maxwell Kjelden netted five goals in the win. Mitchell’s Drake Jerke finished with 51 saves in the loss.

Ashton Witte scored two goals, while Breck Hirrschoff had a goal for the Rangers.

Mitchell plays at Sioux Center on Jan. 3.
