Four goals from Brooke Jarman and two more from Brynlee Sabers led the way for the Mitchell Marlins girls varsity hockey team, which defeated Brookings 8-4 Saturday night at the Mitchell Activity Center.

Kate Nash and Kelsey Amick, who each had hat tricks Friday night in Huron, each added another goal against the Rangers, and Amick picked up an assist. Mitchell has scored 28 goals in three games.

The Marlins finished with 40 shots to Brookings' 29, the entire margin accounted for in the opening period (19-8). Sadie Kludt had 25 saves in the win.

Ava Kahle scored two of the Rangers' goals, with Miyah Foerster and Kiran Vugteveen accounting for the other two. Aletha Baker made 32 saves for Brookings.

Mitchell (3-0) concludes its packed weekend with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee against Watertown.
