WICHITA, Kan.-The Dakota Wesleyan University men's and women's golf teams began the spring season at the Tabor College Spring Invite, a two-day tournament at Tallgrass Country Club.
The Tiger women's team placed sixth with a final score of 746, led by Parkston graduate Jayden Bormann, who tied for 13th with a 181. Platte native Niki Nelson placed 19th with a 186, while Jade Burr was 22nd. Megan Hiner (26th) and Kaitlyn Greenhoff (35th) rounded out the scoring for DWU.
The men's team finished the tournament on Tuesday by taking fourth place with a total score of 676 after five players finished in the top 25. Bennett Lundy placed 15th with a 162, while Justice Morrison was seven strokes behind in 19th place, with Ramsey Johnson in 20th.
Mitchell native Cade Carpenter finished 22nd with a 174, while Jayden Engels finished 24th.
The men's golf team competes in the two-day Blue River Classic, beginning on Tuesday in Lincoln, Nebraska. The women's team plays in the Midland/College of Saint Mary Invitational beginning Tuesday in Fremont, Nebraska and concluding Wednesday in Omaha.
