Bon Homme wins Class B state baseball title

The Bon Homme high school baseball team won the Class B state title by beating Ches-ter/Colman-Egan/Flandreau 9-5 in the championship game Mon-day afternoon.

The Bon Homme high school baseball team won the Class B state title by beating Ches-ter/Colman-Egan/Flandreau 9-5 in the championship game Mon-day afternoon.

Kodi Larson was the winner after pitching four plus innings. He gave five runs on five hits. Ross Kortan came on in relief and pitched the final three shutout innings.

Offensive, Lance Ranek, Kortan and Larson all had two hits.

In the first game of the day, Bon Homme beat St. Thomas More 11-1 in six innings.

Doug Vanecek threw all six innings and struck out 11. He also hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning to put Bon Homme up by 10 runs.
