A four-goal first period propelled the Mitchell Marlins over Yankton 7-2 on Friday at the Mitchell Activities Center in Mitchell.

Jesse Grosdidier had a hat trick for the Marlins with three goals, and tallied an assist in the win. Jake Jarman had two goals and an assist, while Bryce Geraets and Otto Sandrini tallied goals for Mitchell.

Ben Colwell earned the win in the net for Mitchell, as he saved 21 of 23 shots.

Jack Schoenfelder and Austin Barger had goals for Yankton.

The Marlins (5-6) take on Sioux Falls on Feb. 12 in Sioux Falls.
