JAMESTOWN, N.D. -- The No. 11 Dakota Wesleyan University men’s basketball team lost for the third time in its last four games on Wednesday. Jamestown (N.D.) pulled away in the second half for a 74-66 win.

The Tigers trailed 30-29 at the half, but could never gain the lead. Jamestown eventually built a double-digit lead, and then held on at the end of the contest.

DWU cut the deficit to 66-60 with 2:52 to play, but Jamestown made four free-throws and two buckets down the stretch to keep the Tigers from getting closer. The Jimmies’ lead grew to 74-63 with 57 seconds to play following Brady Birch making a pair of free throws.

The Jimmies were led by a balanced offensive attack, as Mason Walters recorded a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double. However, Jack Talley (13), Allante’ Pickens (12) and Birch (10) all scored in double figures, as well. Jamestown shot 47.5 percent from the field in the win.

Meanwhile, DWU shot 41 percent from the field, with Ace Zorr paving the way with a career-high 20 points to go with seven rebounds and two steals off the bench. Emery native Sawyer Schultz added 15 points and six rebounds, while Nick Harden scored 10 points. Mason Larson grabbed eight rebounds in the loss.
