In South Dakota State University’s 62-50 win over Omaha on Friday, Myah Selland reached 1,000 career points.
The Letcher native reached the milestone in the second quarter, finishing with 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in the win. Selland shot 8-for-17 from the field.
SDSU got off to a slow start, trailing 19-14 after the first quarter. However, it held Omaha to six points in the second quarter and led 48-41 after the third frame. The Jackrabbits extended their lead in the final quarter.
SDSU shot 41 percent from the field. Paiton Burckhard scored 12 points in the win. It also held Omaha to 38.1 percent shooting.
SDSU (10-2, 3-0) plays at Omaha at 3 p.m. Saturday.
