Winner (9-1): Bella Swedlund led the Warriors with 28 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and four steals. Kalla Bertram logged 22 points, eight steals and seven rebounds. Maggie LaCompte finished with 11 points. The Warriors play Ethan on Saturday at the Corn Palace.

SCOTLAND -- Grace Fryda became Scotland’s all-time leading scorer in the Highlanders’ girls basketball win over Avon on Thursday. She surpassed Aisha Abbink, who scored 1,201 career points.

Scotland (5-3): Fryda scored 17 points to go with five rebounds and three steals for the Highlanders. Makayla Friederich recorded a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double. Audrey Sayler grabbed six rebounds in the win. The Highlanders host Freeman Academy/Marion on Saturday.
