ALEXANDRIA -- Hanson scored 37 points in the first half, as it notched a 64-37 home win over the Mitchell Christian boys basketball team on Thursday.
The Beavers jumped out to a 37-21 halftime lead, and their defense carried them in the second half. Hanson outscored MCS 27-16 in the second half.
Reggie Slaba paced the Beavers with 21 points. Riley Ferry finished with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Hayden Bahmuller added six points and five boards. Simon Weber dished out eight assists and recorded four steals.
Joey Feiner scored 12 points for MCS. Nathanael Anderberg scored 10 points and Ty Vander Pol grabbed eight rebounds.
The Beavers (13-3) play Dell Rapids St. Mary on Saturday at the Corn Palace. Mitchell Christian (0-17) plays in the Sacred Hearts tournament on Saturday in Stephan.
