SEWARD, Neb. --The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s basketball went on the road with designs of taking down top-ranked Concordia, and through the first quarter, it appeared possible.

Plankinton native Makaela Karst scored 11 points on 4 of 6 shooting in the first quarter, while the Tigers limited Concordia to a 5-for-24 quarter, including 1 of 14 from 3-point range.

The Bulldogs quickly turned their fortunes around behind a 5-for-10 quarter beyond the arc and forced 20 first-half turnovers. Kynedi Cheeseman drilled a triple to beat the first-half buzzer, however, to give DWU a 43-42 lead at halftime.

Concordia (9-0, 5-0 GPAC) continued its momentum in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 61-32 and forcing 21 turnovers.
