Dakota Wesleyan University’s Kynedi Cheeseman has been named the NAIA national women's basketball Division II player of the week.

The Alexandria native recorded back-to-back 30-point outings last week. She tied a career-high with 31 points, while also adding five rebounds and three assists in a 71-69 loss at Jamestown on Nov. 20. Cheeseman followed it up with 30 points and six boards in a 93-66 win at Valley City State on Saturday. She averaged 30.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and two assists per game for the week.

She also went 8 of 13 from 3-point range in the two games and shot 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.

No. 13 DWU (6-2, 2-2 GPAC) will play Presentation College on Dec. 2 in Aberdeen.
