EVERETT, Wash. — Mitchell native and former South Dakota State women's basketball player Macy Miller made her professional debut Wednesday night, coming off the bench for the WNBA's Seattle Storm in a preseason exhibition game against the Phoenix Mercury.

A 6-foot guard, Miller played 12-plus minutes but was held scoreless. She was 0-for-3 from the field, while contributing an offensive rebound and assist. The defending WNBA champion Storm dropped an 87-84 decision to Phoenix.

Miller was the 36th overall — and final — selection in the WNBA Draft in April after leading the Jackrabbits to their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.

Seattle is scheduled to conclude the preseason Friday in Pasadena, California, against the Los Angeles Sparks. The regular season opener is set for May 25 against Phoenix.
